Elementary Adventures

The hands-on approach to learning is one of the ways Trilogy is different from traditional schools. The students often use games or other manipulatives to learn. In math, the "100 boards" are a fun way for the students to learn. During younger elementary thematics, the World rug helps the students locate the continents. Make sure to ask your child to sing the "Continents" song. 

 

There are many games and activities for the children to participate in throughout the classrooms as well as time and areas for the children to play freely. On this particular day, the children played dress-up and attended a tea party!

 



Fun in the Sun

Today was the elementary school's water day.



There were two Slip and Slides, lots of water balloons, squirt guns, and a sprinkler for the children to play with.

Middle and High School Water Day

It rained off and on today, but that didn't stop the middle and high school students from having a really fun water day, it just meant that nature contributed to how wet they got.
























The elementary school water day will be Monday.

Indoor Recess and a Special Treat

We returned from our Spring break to a very smoky Gainesville. Due to health concerns, we have kept the children inside for recess in the mornings Monday and Tuesday. This was the worst day, so far, so we kept the children inside for both recesses.

This didn't mean that the children didn't have fun, though. Two of the children became very creative with the math blocks.





Then we all had a wonderful lunch provided by Olive Garden, as a reward for all the money we collected for the "Pennies for Pasta" program













The meal included pasta, breadsticks, salad, pink lemonade, and a chocolate mint candy.

Please remember that if your child is going on the field trip Friday, to the Santa Fe College Observatory, they will need to bring $6 as the admission fee.

A New Addition to the Classroom Games

The older elementary students have a new game to play on those days when the weather doesn't permit outdoor recess, this small air hockey table.

Birthdays and Bubbles

Sometimes our regular day is interrupted by a special event. This month we have had two birthdays.















Today, all of the children were given little bottles of bubbles to play with during recess (Thank you, Linda!)
